Help with Editing

March 4, 2011

We have 6 episode worth of raw footage, but have run into some difficulties with editing it.  We have someone who specializes in sound standing ready to help with that aspect, but need someone to do the visual editing.

If you or anyone you know would be interested in trying your hand at editing footage with awesome steampunk costumes, locations, and dancing, please contact me at: psp@lulalee.com.

thanks!

More photos from Filming Episode 7

November 15, 2010

These gorgeous photos were taken by Michael Tweed Photography.

behind the scenes: Episode 7

July 16, 2010

Our costumer: Denise

Our amazing costumer Denise really went all out for this episode.  Almost everything you see on us is handmade by her.

Hopefully I can find a photo of the hat she made for Gerard Gideon (played by Jeremy Koerner) which we didn’t end up using in the episode, but which is really cool.

Jeremy contemplates his next joke.

Note the gear-laden headpiece on Adelle Archer (played by Kristin) — handmade by Denise.

You may notice a sling on Adelle – that is not a prop!  I actually seriously injured my arm the night before we were set to film.  Luckily our brilliant director Mike Fatum came up with a cool filming workaround, and I re-worked the script a tiny bit to make a sling make sense.  Unfortunately, we did not have time to “steampunk” the sling, but the rest of the costume from Denise more than makes up for it.

Kristin, Mae Linh and David share a moment between shoots.

David shows us his moves.

Last night we filmed Episode 7

A special shout-out to Mark&Audi at AudraJean who let us borrow the awesome zipper hat featured here on Marie, and the leather buckled harness corset belt featured on Evan in Episode 1.

5 lens steampunk goggles

December 30, 2009

Steampunk22 has generously agreed to let us borrow his fantastic, customized 5 lens steampunk goggles!

The goggles are made from a durable and flexible plastic base, hand painted evenly throughout, and have been affixed with a fully adjustable and customized five lens system. The goggles feature a fully adjustable thick leather like vinyl strap with reinforced grommets and real brass bolts for added durability. Brass and vintage leather highlights throughout!

These will be featured on Adelle Archer as she works on a delicate piece of machinery in Episode 4.

new filming location: Mickey’s Monkey

December 22, 2009

I just talked to Mickey, of Mickey’s Monkey, an idiosyncratic antique store in San Francisco (check out the high praise on yelp), and he has graciously agreed to let us film an episode in his store.  Hooray!  He has a great collection of furniture and antiques, that will serve as a nice backdrop for Episode 7.

While I was in there checking it out, I saw two items of furniture that make me regret I have no more room: a solid teak bookshelf, and a truly beautiful mahogany dresser for only $295.  $295!  Solid mahogany, nicely made drawers, and a gorgeous finish. It certainly puts my bedside table (which didn’t cost that much less) to shame.  If it is still there when we film, it will certainly get pride of place in the scene.
